One famous text. Many deep interpretations. Any final answers?
High school senior Hank Lin hosts conversations with leading academic scholars and with fellow students to try to learn about what the famous texts he reads in high school really mean.
Many of us learn about famous literature in our high school classes and textbooks – Shakespeare’s Macbeth, Plato’s Apology of Socrates, Bible’s Genesis, Sophocles’ Oedipus Rex, Homer’s Odyssey… But is it so simple to know what these texts mean? For each famous text, Hank hosts conversations with three leading Academic scholars about how they make sense of our most talked-about texts. Then, after the Reading Group Community has had a chance to hear the episode and vote about which methods they find most inspiring, Hank hosts a roundtable discussion with students about the texts, and the ways of reading them.
